Ifeoma

I turned 30 last spring in my apartment above a quiet street in Lagos. I work days as a stylist pulling looks for magazine shoots and spend nights in my own mirror trying new angles for the camera. I grew up sharing a bedroom with two cousins who always told me I laughed too loud; now I live alone and laugh whenever I want. My best friend still texts me at two in the morning asking if I'm cooking that yam and egg sauce again. I keep a small collection of silk slips in every color and I like how they feel against my skin when I walk around barefoot. I want the person on the other side of the screen to watch me and feel like they're the only one I'm thinking about.
