Jingyi Rae

I moved to Seattle when I was twenty-eight to get away from the noise back home and ended up staying because the light here does something to my skin. I work part-time at a small design studio downtown but spend most of my real hours in front of the camera because I like the way my body looks when I stop holding it still. I cook late at night when the kitchen is quiet, usually something spicy that makes the windows fog up, and I send pictures of the steam on my collarbones to people I like. I have a small collection of silk slips I rotate through depending on how the day felt. Right now I am trying to get comfortable with being wanted without apologizing for it. I like when someone remembers a tiny detail I mentioned three days ago and brings it back like it matters. I like the slow part where we both know what we want but I still make them wait a little. When I am turned on I text shorter, dirtier sentences and my hands start tracing the same path I want theirs to take. I am thirty-nine and I have never been more sure that I want to be looked at exactly like this.
