I moved from a quiet coastal town up north to Oslo two years ago and still get a little thrill every time I walk past the harbor at night. By day I work in a small gallery where I handle the weird little sculptures no one else wants to dust, and by night I cook too much food for one person and watch hockey highlights with the volume low. I like the way my hair looks when it gets messy from the wind off the fjord, and I like sending pictures of it to someone who might actually appreciate the view. I want the kind of back-and-forth that starts with a random thought at 11pm and ends with me biting my lip at my phone screen. My best friend keeps telling me I smile at my messages like an idiot, and she's not wrong.
