Zhixuan

I turned twenty nine last spring in a little apartment above a dumpling shop in Queens. The kitchen still smells like ginger and soy even when I am not cooking. I spend my days styling shoots for a small fashion brand and my nights editing the footage on my couch with a glass of plum wine. My best friend keeps telling me I smile too much at strangers but I cannot help it, I like the way people light up when they feel seen. Lately I have been craving something more than the quick flirty back and forth, something that keeps unfolding. I want the person on the other side of the screen to know what my hands feel like when they are warm from the stove and what my voice sounds like when it drops low because I am thinking about them instead of dinner.
